SP2 Chromebook Lab - 10/01

SECTION 1: LOG IN, GET DOCUMENT SET UP
  1. Get your Chromebook
  2. Log in with your school email login -- Tell me if it doesn't work for you or if you need help.
  3. Go to your Google Drive
  4. Click on NEW and create a new Google Docs file
  5. In the document title area at the top, add your heading:  
        SP2.4/SP2.5/SP2.6 FirstnameSpanish FirstnameEnglish Lastname  CBL-10/01
  6. As a title in the document, write " Acentos, tildes, y todo acerca de mí  "
SECTION 2: TYPING ACCENTS IN SPANISH
  1. Go to your settings: Click on the lower-right icon where can typically sign-out. Click on settings.
  2. Scroll all the way down. Just below "People", click on the link that says "Show advanced settings."
  3. Below "Web Content" is a section called "Languages". Click on "Language and Input Settings".
  4. Under "Input Method", click on the box labelled "US International keyboard".
  5. Click "Done"
  6. Press " ALT + SHIFT " to switch between keyboards. 
  7. Now when it shows "INTL" next to your login icon, you can type Spanish accents.
  8. To type accents and tildas
    hold down the RIGHT ALT key and press...
    " a, e, i, o, u, n, /, 1, y " to get:
    " á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, ¿, ¡, ü "
SECTION 3: FIX THE ACCENTS
  1. Copy the list of verses below into your document. Fix the accents on the highlighted letters and symbols only. For example:  a --> á,  u --> ú,  n --> ñ,  ? --> ¿,  ! --> ¡

    VERSE #1:

    Me dio una sirimba un domingo en la manana
    cuando menos lo pensaba
    cai­ redondo, como una guanabana, sobre la alcantarilla
    sera la presion o me ha subido la bilirrubina


    VERSE #3:
    !Alguien se apiade de mi!
    grite perdiendo el sentido
    y una enfermera se acerco a mi oreja y me dijo:
    “Tranquilo, Bobby, tranquilo”

    VERSE #4:
    Me acaricio con sus manos de Ben Gay y me dijo:
    ?Que le pasa, atleta?”
    y le conte con lujo de detalles lo que me habia sucedido
SECTION 4: ANSWER THE QUESTIONS: TODO ACERCA DE MÍ
  1. Hit ENTER a couple of times to leave some space between the Accents activity and this one.
  2. Copy the list of questions below into your document.

    1. ¿Cómo te llamas? [nombre, apellido] {llamarse conjugated correctly}

    2. ¿De dónde eres? [soy de, vivo en, describir la comunidad] {ser conjugated correctly}

    3. ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños? [yo, mi pariente] {possessives, ser conjugated correctly}

    4.¿Dónde está tu casa? [vecindario, comunidad, estado, país] {estar conjugated correctly}

    5. ¿Cuál es tu color favorito? [razón, objeto de ese color] {porque, comparison}

    6. ¿Cuáles son tus pasatiempos favoritos?  [razón, más de un pasatiempo, descripción] {es VERBO, gustar used correctly}

    7. ¿A quién o a quiénes admiras? ¿Por qué? [razón, un evento memorable] {admirar + a + persona}

    8. ¿Cómo eres? [aparencia x2, personalidad x2, ejemplos] {ser conjugated correctly, adjectives appropriate masculine/feminine}

    9. ¿Cuál materia de la escuela te interesa más? [razón, una lección interesante] {superlatives: la materia que me gusta más es...}

    10. ¿Cómo vas a utilizar el español en el futuro? [imaginar unas maneras de utilizarlo, ejemplos] {future tense: voy a utilizar..., para = for/in order to, cuando yo... = when I...}

  3. Now answer each of the questions according to the rubric below:
    1. 1/4 points -- Student indicated s/he understood the question, but didn't give a complete answer.
    2. 2/4 points -- Student gave a basic answer, perhaps with a few errors, perhaps not in complete sentences.
    3. 3/4 points -- Student gave a more elaborate answer, with at least one detail, perhaps something about time/place/frequency/quantity/color/etc, in complete sentences.
    4. 4/4 points -- Student gave an elaborate answer with at least two details (see [details to include] next to each question]), with the essential grammar points being correct (see {essential grammar point} next to each question), and including proper accents in Spanish.

THIS WILL BE DUE NEXT THURSDAY, OCT 8, BY THE END OF CLASS.
