SP2 Homework, DUE: Wed., 12/9

  • Realidades 2 Textbook, Chapter 1B
  • Complete Pages 42-43, Activities 1, 2, and 3 
  • DUE Wednesday, December 9 -- In notebook
Complete these activities in your notebook and copy all notes I've added which start with "CHECK:" from below each section into your notebook.



CHECK: DID YOU KNOW THESE WORDS?
  1. la biblioteca = library
  2. la mezquita = mosque (Islam)
  3. el templo = temple (Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.)
  4. la sinagoga = synagogue (Judaism)
  5. levantar pesas = to lift weights
  6. ir al partido = to go to the match.
  7. (Add any other words you aren't familiar with to your notes as well.)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACTIVITY 1

  1. Write five places into a table as seen above. 
  2. Interview two classmates and ask them whether they go to the places you listed and how often.
  3. Example: "¿Vas a _(place)_? ¿Con cuánta frequencia?
  4. Interviewees should answer using todos los días, a veces, or nunca
  5. Use the Modelo to get started. 
  6. You will use this table with the interview answers in Activity 2.


CHECK: DID YOU KNOW THESE GRAMMAR RULES?
  1. The verb "ir" is irregular and conjugates as seen above.
  2. al = to the (masculine place). E.g. Voy al baño.
  3. del = of the (masculine person/place/thing). E.g. El menú del restaurante. 
  4. ir + a + infinitive verb = to be going to do something. E.g. Voy a ver una película en el cine. (I'm going to see a movie in the movie theater.)

CHECK: DID YOU KNOW THESE WORDS?
  1. adónde = to where, where to
  2. allí = there, over there
  3. otros dos estudiantes = two other students
  4. di = say (tú command)
  5. cada una de estas personas = each of these people
  6. recuadro = table
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACTIVITIES 2 AND 3:
  1. ACT 2: Use the information from Activity 1 to write sentences that say where you and your classmates are going and what you/they will do there.
  2. ACT 3: Answer each question saying what the people mentioned are going to do. Use the verbs from the box to construct logical sentences.
