Plain (Casual) Form and Polite Form:

たべる　ー＞　たべます　e.g. りんご　を　たべる　・　りんご　を　たべます

のむ　　ー＞　のみます　e.g. ジュース　を　のむ　・　ジュース　を　のみます

This, that, that over there; which one, which object:

これ、それ、あれ　ー　どれ  = these don't connect to the object
この、その、あの　ー　どの  = these do connect to the object

Ex. これはえんぴつです = this is a pencil.
Ex. このえんぴつはあかいです = this pencil is red.

Ex. どれがえんぴつですか = which one is a pencil?
Ex. どのえんぴつがあかいですか = which pencil is red?
