APUNTES: Verbs Like Gustar and New Personality Adjectives

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Write 15-20 new personality adjectives from my new post: Advanced Spanish Personality Adjectives. 
2. Copy down the notes and problems from parts A-C. Complete each section according to the instructions given.
3. Get parts A-C stamped in your notebook after we check these activities together.
4. Complete part D: Create 2 posters with a simple caption detailing types of people you like, dislike, love, etc.

A. GUSTAR and other verbs with Personality Adjectives:

• Verbs #1-4 work differently from English. Instead of "I like _____ people." we must instead phrase it as "To me, people of ______ nature are pleasant." or "______ people delight me."
• Verbs #5-6 (impresionar + fascinar) work in the same way, although in a different order than that of English. "_____ fascinates me." changes to "Me fascina ______".

3. MOLESTAR = to bother
4. ENCANTAR = to enchant
5. IMPRESIONAR = to impress
6. FASCINAR = to fascinate

B. Complete the sentences below with an adjective to indicate the 'type' of person that fits the given criteria in your opinion:

2. A _____(amigo/a)_______ le disgustan las personas ______________.
3. A nosotros nos molestan las personas __________________.
4. Me encantan las personas _________________.
5. Me impresionan las personas __________________.

C. Complete the sentences below with activities or things that you enjoy, dislike, etc. Change the verb to the 3rd-person plural form when necessary.

D. Basándose una frase de la parte B, escribe DOS frases con un verbo como GUSTAR, y haz un dibujo o crea una representación visual para cada uno. Puedes modificar las frases que tenías, y debes hablar desde tu perspectiva. Verifica que las frases estén correctas antes de empezar a crear los carteles. Por ejemplo:

E. Choose a superhero. Write one sentence for each verb showing the superhero's preferences regarding types of people, things, and activities.

• Ex: A Batman le molestan las personas deshonrosas.
• Ex: A Batman le gusta escalar los rascacielos en persecución de sus enemigos.
