1. Play "Preterite vs. Imperfect Battleship". Set the enemy level to EASY. Click on the battlefield until you hit something. Then you will be asked a multiple choice question. You will need to select the correct tense and conjugation based on the given sentence. Play until you WIN and then show me the board with the "congratulations" message after you win (show/bring the chromebook up to me before continuing or leaving the page).

Example Problem:

I drew.

A. dibujo
B. dibujó
C. dibujé ......... CORRECT: Preterite because it is a complete action
D. dibujaba

TIP: If you make a mistake you will see an ORANGE TARGET remaining. Click on it again to attempt the question again.

HELP: If you continue to make mistakes and don't know why, review the rules governing the use of preterite and imperfect as we discussed yesterday. Also you can review the basic endings below if conjugation is the problem:

Here are all three regular preterite verb forms together:

Note: The nosotros forms for -ar and -ir verbs are the same in both preterite and present tenses: hablamos, vivimos.

2. Go to the list of Preterite and Imperfect Trigger Words on Quizlet. Copy these into your notebook in TWO SEPARATE TABLES: "Imperfect Triggers" and "Preterite Triggers". Write the Spanish and English meanings for each term which belongs in that table.

3. Read the list of additional trigger words here: Preterit vs. Imperfect - differences and signifier phrases. Take note of any phrases or words that are missing from your tables. Add 2 more new triggers or phrases to each table. Underline/Star/Highlight these new phrases.

4. After completing Step 3 do the Practice Quiz. After you finish, write down your Percentage, Number Attempted (__/40), and Streak in your notebook. Repeat the quiz as necessary until you get 30+ out of 40. Record your score each time. Show me your these tables and scores when you are finished to get a stamp and to get credit for your lab.
